Dr. Michael Brumund is a father of two, married to his best friend who is a pediatrician in Baton Rouge. He is a congenital cardiologist, board certified in pediatric cardiology and adult congenital cardiology. He founded the Congenital Heart Foundation to help all patients, both adult and pediatric, who may be affected with congenital heart disease in the state of Louisiana.

Kristi is married to Blake, and they have two children, Eddie and Caroline. She’s an avid reader, traveler, and photographer. Kristi was a teacher for 14 years and is now a freelance writer. She is a current member of the Junior League of Baton Rouge where she serves as Placement Chair and a member of the Knock Knock Children’s Museum education committee. Her heart warrior, Caroline, is four-years old. Caroline is a dancer, a singer, and big fan of Paw Patrol. Caroline has idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension and is treated at Boston Children’s Hospital by Dr. Kulik.

Matt Moscona

Matt Moscona is the award-winning host of "After Further Review with Matt Moscona" on 104.5 ESPN Baton Rouge. The show began in syndication on 100.3 ESPN New Orleans in 2016. Moscona, a New Orleans native, is an LSU graduate and has worked in the Baton Rouge market for 13 years. He has been named to Radio Ink magazine‘s list of the Top 30 Local Sports Talkers in America four times and was the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters Prestige Award Winner for Best Sports Show in Louisiana in 2016. Matt and his wife Erika have one son, Drew, who was born with a rare genetic disorder that manifest in the form of several severe defects including Complete AV Canal. Drew was born at Texas Children’s Hospital where he spent the first seven months of life in the NICU and CVICU before returning home to Baton Rouge in February 2015. After eight surgeries and daily therapy, Drew continues progressing.

Maggie Graham

Maggie has served as a PreK teacher at Lincoln Parish Early Childhood Center for six years in Ruston, LA. Her heart warrior, Stella, was born in Boston on October 15, 2014, and underwent surgery for Coarctation of the Aorta. Her family just celebrated her 3rd birthday, and Stella was just released by Dr. Brumund for two years! Maggie is so happy to be a part of this organization.

Jane Leblanc

Jane is a Speech Language Pathologist and has been in practice since 2001. She received her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and her Master’s degree from University of Louisiana Lafayette. Jane specializes in pediatrics and has worked in both medical and school settings. Jane is currently employed with Lafayette Parish School System. She married her husband, Rene’ LeBlanc, in 2003 and together they have 2 beautiful sons. Their oldest son, Aaron, was born with 9 complex congenital heart defects including corrected transposition of the greater arteries, ventricular septal defect, arterial septal defect and right ventricular hypoplasia. Aaron has undergone 3 open heart surgeries in Boston and is currently thriving under the care of Dr. Michael Brumund without physical restrictions or the aid of daily medications.

Dr. Angela Ledet

Angela is a small animal veterinarian in Covington. She is married to Daniel Ledet. They have 3 children, Elliana, Noah, and Isaiah. Angela’s and Daniel‘s boys were both born with congenital heart disease. Noah was born in November 2014 with a severe, complex CHD which would have required at least 3 open heart surgeries. The first was completed successfully at Boston Children’s Hospital. During the interstage period, at 3.5 months old, Noah very unexpectedly passed away. He would be three-years-old this year. Isaiah was born with an isolated ventricular septal defect. His heart defect is resolving without medical or surgical intervention and has caused him no problems. He is 18-months old and extremely healthy. Angela has experienced the best and the worst of congenital heart disease. She is excited to raise CHD awareness and help other families as they travel through their own CHD journey.
